Site Name: The Rub: Movie Reviews

What is the main focus of your site (reviews, editorials, news, lists, etc.)?
I write movie reviews for theatrical releases with some DVD releases when I can get my hands on them early enough.

What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
I just love movies. And I love to write. The idea of combining the two seemed too elementary. I am only looking for like minded people to discuss movies with.

Do you prefer an interactive ‘community’ for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers are the students?
I absolutely prefer the community aspect. I would never want my review to steer someone away from seeing a movie they want to see. I like to interact with my readers through their comments and responses. We all do this to share our opinions. Mine is just that of one man. I don’t like everything and everyone doesn’t like everything I do. It’s about being honest and sharing your perspective – of which I feel mine is unique.

How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
I have been reviewing and posting reviews for just shy of a year. I update the site as regularly as I see new movies. So once or twice a week.

Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more).
Magnolia, Goodfellas, Adaptation.

How did you hear about the LAMB?
Jed Medina, the owner of themovie-fanatic.com (another site I write for).

Any additional comments.
An interview question not listed: What movie made you want to become a film critic?

No contest – Lost Highway. After walking out of the theatre I didn’t have a clue what was going on. I remember thinking to myself, “If I was a critic and could wrap my mind around this enough to write a review, I’d have made it.”
