LAMB #89 – The Uranium Cafe

by Dylan · May 4, 2008 · New LAMB · 2 Comments

Site Name: The Uranium Cafe

What is the main focus of your site (reviews, editorials, news, lists, etc.)?
My blog is primarily about horror, sci-fi and cult movies, Asian cinema, B and Z flicks, as well as old westerns and film noir movies. The movies will mostly be old films that have withstood the test of time. There will entries on old TV shows as well. There will also be pages that focus on comic books and comic book art, pin-up girls, music and persons of interest in all these fields. There will a heavy emphasis on edited images.

What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
I just want to write about some things that interest me and share information I have researched. I also hope to receive information and meet some people who have a similar interest in the type of films and books and music I like and learn from them. I am looking to make money with this site or compete to have the coolest site with the most hits.

Do you prefer an interactive ‘community’ for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers are the students?
I am not taking the attitude that I am an authority on anything I write about. I am here to just share some things I like. I would like an interactive site with regular visitors who will share information. I do not welcome rude remarks or put downs. I am not soft skinned but I simply do not have the time to waste on all that. All pointless and asinine comments will be deleted and the sender spammed.

How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
For about three years. I try to add at least 2 or 3 new posts a week if possible, as I have other interests and responsibilities that occupy my time. I try to get my posts to have a certain consistent look and I use Photoshop Image Ready and some graphic other software to do that. I prefer to post fewer posts with good quality than many with little information. I usually have essays in the queue and also go back to add to or correct posts.

Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more).
Apocalypse Now, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Bullett.

How did you hear about the LAMB?
From a commenter to my web page.

Any additional comments, or give yourself an interview question that’s not listed above.
What kind of movies do you really, really love that may never appear on your site?

Woody Allen films. Unless he makes a good neurotic, zombie movie soon.
