Site Name: Die, Danger, Die, Die, Kill!

What is the main focus of your site (reviews, editorials, news, lists, etc.)?
I started 4DK as a means of keeping people posted on where my writing was appearing once I began writing reviews for Teleport City and others in addition to my own site, The Lucha Diaries. It’s since grown to become an outlet for my less structured musings: capsule reviews, rants and, of course, the occasional outburst of juvenile idiocy.

Vintage pop cinema from the non-English speaking world is the primary focus. Films covered have included female-centric Cantonese spy films from the 60s, mod/psych youth movies from Thailand, Filipino superhero and Mexican wrestler movies, as well as those along more traveled routes like Bollywood, Eurospy, tokusatsu, pinky violence, etc. I’ve even been known to toss in the occasional music review because I’m just so damn unpredictable.

What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
In addition to sharing my thoughts and hopefully introducing the curious to avenues of world cinema they may not have explored, I’m interested in creating a dialog with like-minded cult movie addicts that will increase my own knowledge on the subject. As for professionally, would I like this to lead to paying work? Hells yeah! I am also accepting job offers for any employment that involves tasting fine single malt Scotches, or that involves Rosario Dawson in any way. Especially that involves Rosario Dawson, really.

Do you prefer an interactive ‘community’ for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers are the students?
My readers have already proven invaluable in terms of filling in gaps in my knowledge and steering me toward movies I wouldn’t have heard of otherwise. Also, I’ve been known to get things wrong on occasion — and every little kernel of misinformation I send out across the internets I like to think of as acting as a sort of beacon of ignorance that calls upon those more knowledgeable to come to my rescue.

How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
I started The Lucha Diaries in late 2006, and have been blogging on 4DK since February 2008. I try to update at least three times a week, and have often posted every day of a given week. Though on those occasions a lot of what I’ve posted is admittedly sort of crap.

Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more).
Quatermass and the Pit
The Heroic Trio
The Exterminating Angel.

How did you hear about the LAMB?
From some obscure little blog called Final Girl. Anyone heard of that one?

Any additional comments, or give yourself an interview question that’s not listed above.
I think I’ve already said too much.
