Site Name: Movie Mom
Categories: Reviews, News, Editorials, Features, Interviews, Quizzes, Giveaways
Rating: PG-13 to R — in advising parents on the appropriateness of the content I describe the content that may be of concern
What is the main focus of your site?
A parent’s eye on media, pop culture, and values, with reviews of movies and DVDs.
What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
I want to create a resource for parents, teachers, caregivers, and older kids and teens to learn about and discuss what is good, bad, and ugly at theaters, on DVD, and in other media and culture as it reflects and influences our choices and values and understanding.
Do you prefer an interactive ‘community’ for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers are the students?
Interactive! I love to engage with the commenters.
How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
I started a website in 1995 and added the blog in about 2002. I update it 5-7 times a week at least, often more. I have well over 1500 reviews on the site.
Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more).
The Philadelphia Story
His Girl Friday
Waking Life
How did you hear about the LAMB?
Saw it on Reel Fanatic.
Any additional comments, or give yourself an interview question that’s not listed above.
Favorite movie quote?
“Ball of Fire” Barbara Stanwyck describing her scratchy throat to a dubious Gary Cooper: “It’s as red as The Daily Worker and just as sore!”
