Morning, folks. Andrew from Encore’s World of Film & TV, I’m here to give you the results for the first episode of LAMB Casting – my new feature. The task was to cast A Streetcar Named Desire, classic film with Viven Leigh and Marlon Brando directed by the legendary Elia Kazan. Four imaginative LAMBs gave me their choices on who should play Stanley, Blanche, Mitch and Stella. I’d like to thank them all for their participation which was much appreciated, and to the fifty eight LAMBs (and visitors) who voted.

Heather of Movie Mobsters offered up her thoughts – Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, Tobey Maguire and Toni Collette with David Fincher directing.

CS from Big Thoughts From A Small Mind gave us Clive Owen, Kate Winslet, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Natalie Portman with Pedro Almodóvar directing.

Peter from My Situated Laundry gave us Jon Hamm, Cate Blanchett, John. C. Reilly and Amy Adams with Mike Nichols

Jude from And All That Film gave us Ralph Fiennes, Nicole Kidman, Tim Robbins and Abbie Cornish

I’m actually surprised at the double showing of Kate Winslet who I’d never have imagined for Blanche, though Vivien was a British playing American. I rather liked the idea of Nicole Kidman who would have actually been a first choice of mine. I do like Heather’s choice of Collette, though now I wonder if she wouldn’t make a good Blanche and I like Philip Seymour Hoffman in anything, so CS has me there. If I could mix and match, I’d probably take Nicole, Jon, Philip and Toni. Nevertheless, the winner was Peter Chan. It seemed like you really liked his imagination, so CONGRATULATIONS. Thanks to all participants and voters, I’ll be back with Episode 2 soon…
