LAMB # 798 – zerode-a sensibility

by Rachel · January 18, 2011 · New LAMB · 1 Comment

Site Name: zerode-a sensibility
Categories: General, Classic Film
Rating: PG-13

What is the main focus of your site?
A “sensibility” – you might also so, what interests me – but since my background is in film studies and most of what interests me is film, that tends to be the subject of the bulk of my more substantive posts.
I have a particular interest in “classic film,” including musicals, westerns and fantasy/science fiction.

What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
This is still taking shape. I am taking my blogging more and more seriously – both in its own right and as a “calling card” for my other activities. I see it developing more and more as an outlet for the film and cultural studies interests that used to be expressed in my academic work.

Do you prefer an interactive community for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers the students?
I prefer interactive. I have been thinking of changing my theme/design to something that encourages more comment.

How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
Very active for the past 6 months. I’ve had over 300 posts in that time, but many of them were fairly minor. I am aiming for two or three substantive and specifically film posts a week.

Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more).
King Kong (original)
Chungking Express
Seven Samurai

How did you hear about the LAMB?

Any additional comments, or give yourself an interview question that’s not listed above.
I realize that you are specifically focused on MOVIE blogs and that mine has had a somewhat more diverse character, but I am planning to scale back my posting on music and other subjects and stick to what I know best – film and popular culture.
