Site Name: Ben Likes Movies (and Stuff)
Categories: Reviews, Editorials, Lists
Rating: PG-13
What is the main focus of your site?
Movie reviews (mostly current in-theatre releases), fun lists, soapbox commentaries, opinions, personal experiences and musings. I see well over 100 movies/year on the big screen (plus hundreds more at home), have a healthy knowledge of film and pop culture and hope to impart some of that insight to my readers.
What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
The dream of dreams would be to make a living writing about movies, or at least have the opportunity to do so in a more “official” capacity. The day I obtain a press pass for advance screenings will be a glorious day indeed. But for now, I aim to entertain & inform anyone who is kind enough to pay my humble site a visit.
Do you prefer an interactive community for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers the students?
So far it’s mostly been a teacher/student relationship — or more accurately, preacher/follower. But interactivity/discussion is always welcome!
How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
This site has been active since January 2009, but I maintained another blog for four years prior to that. I post a few times a month, give or take, but hope to start doing so more frequently.
Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more).
Return of the Jedi. Jurassic Park. Amelie.
How did you hear about the LAMB?
Someone mentioned it on Twitter a while back.
Any additional comments, or give yourself an interview question that’s not listed above.
I live in New York City and take full advantage of the wealth of movie offerings available to me. Even if I don’t blog about a particular movie, chances are I’ll tweet about it (and other mostly-movie-related-musings) at http://twitter.com/BenLikesMovies.
