Rating: PG-13
What is the main focus of your site?
The main focus of Feminising Film, for me, is definitely to have the chance to connect with other bloggers out there on an awesome-film kind of level.
Plus, it has been a great tool to get people in the know about certain films they may not have heard of, or films that I might have not discovered, too – all of which have something to do with feminist filmmaking (or, in a lot of cases, the lack of.)
What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
The best thing that has come out of the blog is being able to read, and follow, the work of other bloggers out there.
It’s been a good creative outlet when it comes to writing articles/reviews and other things related to film, too
Do you prefer an interactive community for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers the students?
Interactive blog all the way. I am not sure about the teacher/student kind of blogging. It seems a lot less informal, and leads me onto thinking that the writer values their own opinion more than those that read their posts. I think it’s pretty important to speak to your readers – that’s why they’re there!
How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
The site has been active since May 2011. Due to my work load at work and other commitments, I haven’t been able to dedicate as much of my time into Feminising Film as I would have liked, but, now, I have set out a plan for the blog with so much more I’d like to add to it.
Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more).
Akira, LOTR trilogy and The Illusionist (not the Edward Norton one)
How did you hear about the LAMB?
Before I even came close to setting up my own blog, I heard about the LAMB through Stevee at Cinematic Paradox!
Any additional comments, or give yourself an interview question that’s not listed above.
