What is the main focus of your site? | To provide spoiler conscious reviews and to simply lay out for the readers what to expect from each film. No one sets out to make a bad movie and as such I like to highlight both positives and negatives for every movie! Every Monday I also list what’s coming to dvd/bluray, what’s coming to theaters the following friday, and links to cool trailers that came out the week before. |
What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog? | Personally this is a way for me to get practice with writing and being comfortable with putting out my work. Professionally it would be a dream to be able to review movies for a living. It would be cool if Thinking Cinematic takes off as its own thing but even if it doesn’t, it’s a nice thing to show any potential employers. |
Do you prefer an interactive community for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers the students? | I would love a more interactive community for my blog! I’m by no means an expert and never try to come across with the attitude that my opinion is law. I like the idea that it’s an open discussion where I present my ideas and they present theirs. Movies are amazing and deserve to be discussed among friends and peers! |
How long has this site been active for, and how frequently do you post updates to your site? (Note: sites must be active for at least three months for entry to the LAMB.) | This past January was officially a year since setting up the site but last May was when I started posting reviews regularly. My current schedule is a new movie review every Saturday at 8 (central time). I do have other posts that come out on Monday and Friday. Monday is a update of what comes out for that week and Friday is a T.V. review of the NBC show Community. That was an experiment that I’m not sure I’ll continue doing. |
Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more). | Lost in Translation, Rango (Nickelodeon Animated Movie), Jurassic Park |
Name a movie you hate!! | Dragonball Evolution |
How did hear about the LAMB? If it was a LAMB, do you recall which one? | It was on a reddit post discussing how to be a movie reviewer. |
Any additional comments, or give yourself an interview question that’s not listed above. (optional) | I love movies and I love writing! It started off as a fun project but after getting nearly 5,000 views in one year I saw the potential for it to be more so I’m hoping that this year I can improve that! Either way the important thing is movie discussion and I love having a place to express my thoughts with a steady base of readers! |
