Three movies for you this week. Dunkirk, as you might have guessed, is quite rightfully receiving a great deal of praise, and I couldn’t be happier about that. It’s now #2 on our leaderboard for the year, so hurrah! There’s also good news for the apparently-much-better-than-Rough-Night Girls Trip, so yay! The third movie is Valerian, and it’s perhaps one of the most divisive films of...
Before anyone says anything about the post title, I know that monkeys and apes are different things, but when there’s a simian-centric movie out the same week as a be-careful-what-you-wish-for horror, well there’s only one direction I’m going in pun-wise. So without further ado, here’s what the LAMB community had to say about War For The Planet Of The Apes and Wish Upon:
War For...
Two very different movies for you this week. One is a big superhero sequel/reboot that could well be the best entry within its franchise, and the other predominantly features Casey Affleck wearing a sheet, and includes an interminably slow scene in which Rooney Mara eats a pie. I know which one I’d rather watch. Here’s what the LAMB community has to say about Spider-Man: Homecoming and A Ghost Story:
You know when you look forward to a film and it turns out to be really good? Well my most anticipated film of the year is amongst this week’s crop of Lambscores, and I’m overjoyed that it’s at the top of the pile, and that the rest of the LAMB community also deemed it good enough to make the Lambscores Top 10, hurrah! As well as Baby Driver, this week we also have reviews of The Beguiled, Despicable Me...
One movie this week, and it ain’t a good one, so let’s get it over with, shall we? It’s the latest Transformers movie, and frankly that’s all I need to know. Here’s what the LAMB community had to say about Transformers: The Last Knight:

When Cars 3 was announced, if you’d told me that upon it’s released its Lambscore would be the highest of five movies that same week, I doubt I’d have believed you. 3.14/5 isn’t exactly an incredible score, but it’s a great deal better than many might expect based on the disappointing Cars 2. Anyway, here’s the scores for Cars 3, All Eyez On Me, 47 Meters Down,...
There’s an unintentional connection between the three movies up for today’s Lambscores – they all have very dark, almost-but-not-quite black-and-white posters. Could this be because they all have an element of horror to them? Probably. That’s more likely than all the poster-printing companies having run out of magenta ink, so let’s go with it. Anyway, here are the thoughts of the LAMB community on It Comes At...
One big blockbuster for you this week, the film that seems to have broken the so-called “DC Curse” and hopefully pave the way for many more female-driven, female-directed quality tentpoles. This week the LAMB community is looking at Wonder Woman:

Apologies for the delay in Lambscores posts recently, as you may have noticed the LAMB site was down for a short period, but is now back up and running, so there’s two weeks of scores here today! That’d be so much more exciting, if only they were for better movies. Alas, here’s what the LAMB community thought of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales/Salazar’s Revenge, Alien: Covenant and...
I’m not gonna lie, this week is not a good one for new releases. King Arthur looked like it might be decent, and given Snatched was Amy Schumer’s follow-up to Trainwreck there were high hopes there too, but alas it seems expectations were mostly disappointed given the generally negative scores from the LAMB community:
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword

2017 once again sees a steady stream of superhero movies for us all to enjoy (there’s another promising-looking one released today that you may have heard of), but perhaps the most eagerly anticipated was Marvel’s first entry of the year, the sequel to 2014’s surprisingly awesome Guardians of the Galaxy. Personally I really enjoyed this film and think Kurt Russell is a terrific addition to the franchise, plus it...
This week I was all set to present to you the LAMB community’s thoughts on The Circle and How To Be A Latin Lover. The only problem is, those films didn’t seem to appeal to pretty much anyone (not I can blame you) so we’ve had scarcely any reviews in for either! That’s fine though, because for the past few months I’ve been shamefully neglecting some of the smaller releases, which round about now...
