Site Name: 1,416 and Counting

What is the main focus of your site (reviews, editorials, news, lists, etc.)?
Mainly I’d like to broaden my own personal knowledge of film. A lot of times I get bogged down in genres I heavily prefer (i.e., horror) that I tend to forget that there are other movies out there too. I review films, give my outrageously interesting opinion on projects in production and generally blog about anything remotely relating to movies; blogging is a fun outlet and I learn something all at the very same time. I like to inject a little humor into the blog every now and again, because I can’t stand taking anything too seriously.

What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
As far as goals are concerned, my big targets for the blog right now are to have an interactive readership and to hopefully have some stimulating discussions about all kinds of movies and anything involving movies. I like having my own little corner of the internet to share my thoughts and opinions, but I don’t think anyone’s going to be paying me to do this for a living anytime soon (sadly).

Do you prefer an interactive ‘community’ for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers are the students?
I would much, much rather have an interactive community. I’ve never been to film school or seriously studied film. I like thought provoking discussions, and I think there’s a lot out there I can stand to learn.

How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
Before 1,416 and Counting I had another movie blog which is now defunct, which I started in September of 2007. 1,416 and Counting has been around since February of this year and I generally shoot for one to two updates a day, although sometimes real life issues get in the way.

Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more).
The Fifth Element, Return of the Living Dead, Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison.

How did you hear about the LAMB?
I’m a long time reader of Blog Cabins!
