LAMB #266 – CineRik

URL: http://cinerik.com/
Site Name: CineRik
Categories: Reviews, Academic
Rating: Depends on the site I’m writing for. Most of the stuff is PG-13, but I have some academic stuff I want to post soon which will be dealing with sexuality and gender in film, so that might be racier. That doesn’t really help you, does it?

What is the main focus of your site?
Aggregation of my reviews and other work that is posted on other web sites, as well as some work which doesn’t appear elsewhere. Some TV mixed in with the films as I write quite a few new release DVD reviews.

What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
Get my name around! Also to bring people’s attention to films they might not catch and which should be seen, as well as saving them from the ones they should avoid!

Do you prefer an interactive ‘community’ for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers are the students?
Not answered.

How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
Just over a year now. I started blogging when I attended the Santa Barbara Film Festival and wrote reviews for a college class (I’m a born-again student, returning after about 10 years to change my field from Software Engineering to Film Studies!). I generally update a couple of times a week, depending on how many DVDs I’ve been asked to review and how much spare time my MA allows

Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more).
Blade Runner, What Time is it There?, The Band’s Visit – I’m pretty eclectic in my tastes!

How did you hear about the LAMB?
I followed a link from Hey U Guys.

Any additional comments, or give yourself an interview question that’s not listed above.
None.
