Site Name: Open the Pod Bay Doors, HAL
Categories: Reviews, General, News, Editorials, Humor, Classic Film, (other) silent era, science fiction, “for your consideration” (links)
Rating: PG

What is the main focus of your site?
A casual “mostly movies” blog featuring whatever strikes me at the time, with a lean toward classic genre films.

What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
I’m a writer by long-time profession who has worked for Film.com, DVD Journal, and other venues. I’m no longer under a paid regular banner, so “Open the Pod Bay Doors, HAL” is a way to keep my hand in, express myself on movies I like, and have some fun while (I hope) keeping my pop-writing brain from atrophying completely.

Do you prefer an interactive community for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers the students?
A mix of both. I don’t set myself as any high authority, but I do step up to the podium now and then.

How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
Since March 2010. I post irregularly, depending on time and inclination. So far, max posts per month is 26, minimum is 4.

Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more).
The Third Man, Casablanca, Duck Soup

How did you hear about the LAMB?
Via Christopher Beaubien’s Cinelation.

Any additional comments, or give yourself an interview question that’s not listed above.
I wish I’d found LAMB earlier. I look forward to getting eyeball-deep here. Thanks for existing.

  1. Thank you, LAMB. I appreciate the placement. Here’s hoping to all sorts of new excellent interaction among us movie-watchin’ pundits.

And everyone knows that LAMB 1136 is the superior sequel to THX 1138.
