    That’s why I love the LION Awards. It’s so much fun to compare our thoughts as a film blogging community to what the actual Academy deems worthy. We’re usually way smarter.

    I love the inclusions of Brad Pitt and John Hawkes. I really expected Andy Serkis to sneak onto the list, but this is still a much better list than the Oscars gave us.

    Serkis showed up on a few ballots, with a total of 19 points and was in 7th or 8th place. He even got one vote for Best Actor.
