| What is the main focus of your site? | My site focuses mostly on spoiler-free reviews of films that are currently in the theater. I try not to write over the heads of my readers by keeping the reviews short and simple. There is nothing philosophical about my site. I know that most of my readers go to the theater to be entertained. So, I try to base my reviews off of that. |
| What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog? | I started my blog just for fun and quickly realized how much I enjoyed writing about movies. I feel even better when I have a good amount of traffic to the site. I write the blog to be read by others, so I am always looking to expand my viewership in any way possible. |
| Do you prefer an interactive community for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers the students? | My blog has historically been more teacher/student focused. However, I would love to have more interaction with readers. I haven’t had much success in striking up conversation with readers, so I try not to be too pushy with it. Recently, I have been interacting with other bloggers who review films, and that has helped the interactive process a lot. |
| How long has this site been active for, and how frequently do you post updates to your site? (Note: sites must be active for at least three months for entry to the LAMB.) | Next month will be my two year anniversary with the blog. I have recently found a nice groove for posting more consistently. I tend to post one or two times a week–more during the summer months. I try to review at least three or four films in a month (depending on how busy I am with school), and I do a monthly “Here’s what’s coming to theaters” type post called “Great Expectations.” Each month, I try to do at least one “special” post. So far, this year, I have done my worst of 2012, best of 2012, top 5 movies that I can watch on repeat, and a summer preview. |
