Lambscores: Annihilation for Kids

The week we’re looking at today heralded quite a few releases, but evidently not many of you actually saw Gringo, The Leisure Seeker, Strangers: Prey at Night or The Hurricane Heist, as only a handful of reviews were submitted for them all in total. Fear not though, as also released that week was a much bigger movie, albeit one that didn’t exactly set our critical world aflame with heralds of quality film-making. Ava DuVernay has undoubtedly made some fantastic films in the past (just listen to our Director Retrospective Lambcast on her for proof of that) but alas it seems A Wrinkle in Time is far from her best. Here’s what the LAMB community had to say about it:

A Wrinkle in Time
LAMB Average: 2.50 (10 sites)
Tinsel & Tine (3.5)
The Mundane Adventures of a Fangirl (3)
Paul’s Trip to the Movies (3)
Wherever I Look (3)
Citizen Charlie (2.5)
The Lambcast (2.5)
Talkie Gazette (2.5)
The Michigan Movie Guy (2)
The MN Movie Man (1.5)
Silver Screen Riot (1.5)

LAMBscores will return next week with: 7 Days in Entebbe, I Can Only Imagine, Love, Simon, Tomb Raider
If you want to get involved, here’s how LAMBScores work: Over in the LAMB Forums there’s a sub-board called LAMBScores. If you’ve written a review or recorded a podcast on a new release, find (or create) the thread there, and leave a link to your review, along with your site name and a score out of 5. Three weeks after the film has received a wide release the reviews will be collated and posted here, as long as there are at least five.
