You are going to hear this frequently on this week’s episode, “this is a lot of movie”. There are at least a half dozen heroes, as well as a half dozen villains. Add on top of that there are co-workers, family members and even falafel vendors, and you will need a scorecard wo track them all down. Oh yeah, I don’t want to forget that we have a dozen or so locations in which the story takes place.
Ultimately, you will want to know if you should bother to see the film, Jeanette Ward has some good insights as to the James Gunn influences of the mythology and storytelling. James Wilson celebrates the fact that Gunn breaks free from many of the Superman tropes and as a result there is something fresh here. Todd Liebenow knows more about comic books than he lets on, and Richard is all about Krypto.

We don’t quite get a multiverse her but we do get a pocket universe, and that’s almost as confusing, and it is interesting to think about in a “Cabin in the Woods” manner. (When you see the film, you will get it)
David Corenswet makes for an effective lead both as Superman and as Clark. Todd says he has a new favorite Lois after seeing Rachel Brosnahan in the role. If you are a dog lover, be prepared to fall in love with Krypto, the real star of the movie.
If anyone comes close to stealing the movie from the dog, it is “Mr. Terrific”, so expect that character to be featured in his own film not too far down the road.

Nicolas Hoult is working on his Lex Luthor character by making him an egomaniac without the flamboyance of Gene Hackman’s comic turn in the part. Is it memorable and effective, you will have to listen to find out
