The latest Movie of the Month has been decided upon! For April we change things up by looking at a franchise rather than just one film, and whilst in the past that’s meant we’ve tackled classics like the Godfather, Back to the Future and Indiana Jones, this year saw quite a few direct-to-DVD sequels cropping up alongside some of the more established series. It was a close vote, but the eventual winner, and the franchise we’ll be looking at this year is the Species franchise!

Congratulations to Vern of That Moment In and Cinema Recall for successfully championing all four Species films (Species, Species II, Species III and Species: The Awakening) to victory. As such he gets to host the upcoming Lambcast dedicated to it, and if you have any reviews, features or podcasts on any or all of the Species films, send them to Jay by Monday 8th April.

Winners are excluded for a calendar year, as such Almost Ginger, Kirkham A Movie A Day, Hollywood Consumer and That Moment In are ineligible for the rest of 2019. June’s Movie of the Month will be female-directed movies, October is horror and December is a holiday special.
