Welcome to Jurassic Park…Again. OK, they may be titled Jurassic World nowadays, but the franchise remains the same, dinosaurs and humans are two species that are incompatible in close quarters. It has been three years since the dinosaurs were on the loose on the big screen, and there is summer movie time to fill. If you are a fan of dinosaurs, then this episode is for you.
Former Shepard of the LAMB and LAMBcast Host Jay Cluitt returns to the show for a chance to once again wax poetic about the franchise that he loves. Our resident horror maven Lisa Leaheey, denies that this is a horror film, but she jumped at the chance to be on the episode. You get to decide if her proposition that dinosaurs chasing and killing people fails to constitute a horror movie makes any sense. Nicole Ayers returns for a third episode in a row, and she has things to say about the third act of the film that would make Mahershala Ali, a little embarrassed to collect his check. Finally, Jeanette Ward, loves all things dinosaur and hates all things genetically mutated to make new dinosaurs, come hear why.
We have some side conversations about “Lake Placid”, “The Land Before Time” and Scarlett Johannsson’s casual affability. We don’t break the spoiler wall for over 40 minutes, and when we do, there are no real surprises, so feel free to listen to the show whether you have seen the movie or not. There are lots of opinions and a general approval of the film, plus in the Exit Question of the week, you get to hear some stories about the guests and their Jurassic Park Histories. Be prepared to be astonished when you learn that Jay has never seen Jurassic Park in a cinema.
