We’re looking ahead this week on the Lambcast at the films we’re most anticipated for in the rest of 2018.
Jay was joined by Rebecca, Kristen, Jess and newcomer LeAnne to count down their top 5 most anticipated movies for the new year. Thanks also to Chris, Nick and Tony for submitting voicemail messages stating their personal favourites too.
Also on tap: Rants and Raves of the Week.

Welcome Back Students!
Rob from MovieRob here!
Like The Director’s Chair series being run by Tony, I think that this reignited series is a great way to get a look at what the members of the Lamb community think about the work of some of the most prolific actors/actresses who have been entertaining us all for so many years.
I plan to try and focus on an actor or actress every month who has a birthday in that given...
This month’s Acting School 101 teacher was Faye Dunaway.
We received a total of 43 reviews for 16 films that Faye Dunaway had parts in.
Let’s see what the members of the LAMB community thought of Faye Dunaway’s career:
Barfly (1)

Bonnie & Clyde...
It’s not often that I give a film its lowest rating of all those submitted, but that’s the case this week with Star Wars: The Last Jedi. I didn’t hate it, but I also found precious little of it to be actually entertaining, and the rest – especially the first 90 minutes – was outright dull. Clearly I’m in the minority though, as one of the most-reviewed and definitely the most-seen film of the year...
It’s January, the month where the studios seem to dump their non-awards-worthy fare, so instead of wasting your time listening to podcasts about bad movies, why not listen to us talk about… oh, darn, we’re discussing Ishtar. Sorry about that.
Jay was joined by Ishtar‘s champion Richard, along with a panel ranging from bemused to annoyed, but made up of Rebecca, Sean and Chris.

There’s no big new releases this week (only Just Getting Started, which frankly didn’t get started) so we’re using this opportunity to cover some of the smaller films that took a little longer to acquire more than 5 reviews, and that’s a good thing too, because two of this week’s movies have made their way onto the Top 10 list:
Call Me By Your Name

Happy New Year everybody! Welcome to 2018, and what better way could there be to ring in the new year than by celebrating the best movies from the last one?
Jay was joined by Howard, Kristen, Rebecca and Nick to rank their top movies of 2017. Thanks also to Richard, Rob, DJ, Tony and Vern for submitting voicemail messages stating their personal favourites too, and apologies to Cameron and Justin for losing the first recording...
As you should already know by now, Faye Dunaway is our actor of the month in the newly-revived Acting School 101 feature, being hosted by me, MovieRob. Alongside the monthly blogathon held here on the LAMB site, I will also be hosting a monthly podcast episode devoted to the actor and their roles, and wouldn’t you know it but that’s this very show here!
I was joined by Richard Kirkham from Kirkham a Day and The Strother...
We’ve had a few weeks of so-called “lesser” movies, but this week we’ve got something special – not just one but two new movies that have both made their way onto the Top 10 Films of the Year! Here’s what the LAMB community had to say about The Shape of Water and The Disaster Artist:
The Shape of Water
LAMB Average: 4.32 (11...
The year is almost over, so it’s time to take a look back at the past twelve months and determine exactly what we enjoyed and despised. We have to do this, it is decreed by the powers that be, there’s no way around it, but we’re sticking it to the man this week by not doing movies – NO! – we’re talking TV.
Jay was joined by Robert, Nikhat, Tony and Lackey to rank their top TV of 2017. Thanks...
The latest Movie of the Month has been decided upon!
There have been a few exceptions, but traditionally – an unintentionally – the Movie Of The Month for January is often a film not widely regarded as being critically, um, good. Whether that is the case for January 2018 is yet to be determined, but for now let’s say that if the film turns out to be terrible, I for one won’t be all that surprised....
Apologies for being a couple of days late this week, as with a lot of people this time of year, it gets pretty busy. Anyway, here’s what the LAMB Community had to say about Coco and Darkest Hour:
Coco
LAMB Average: 4.30 (10 sites)
Keith Loves Movies (5)
The Michigan Movie Guy (5)
The Code is Zeek (4.5)
Kirkham A Movie A Day (4.5)
