by Nick Powell · August 17, 2012 · LAMBscores · 2 Comments
Another week, another edition of the LAMBScores. This week features three incredibly different films that are all across the board in their ratings. We have The Watch, starring Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, and Jonah Hill, as well as Killer Joe, featuring McConaughey as a hitman, and then of course, Step Up Revolution, a 3D dance movie that the world so desperately needed.  As always, feel free to post your own scores in the LAMBScores Forum, but please, read the rules beforehand.

At the Back: “Compelling, funny, and gruesome.”
Front Room Cinema: “Killer Joe is challenging, intriguing and very provocative. One of the best films of the summer thus far.”
Dan the Man’s Movie Reviews: “Though the story may falter, Killer Joe still features a top-notch cast (especially a stand-out McConaughey), a tense and wild direction from Friedkin, and a great balance of dark humor and shocking violence/sex.”

Rotten Tomatoes: 2.10 (42%)
IMDB: 2.85 (5.7/10)
LAMB: 2.33 (6)

Movies Hate You Too

LAMB Bites:
Can’t Stop the Movies:“It’s not all gloom and repetition, but even the more inspired sections are drug down by their simplistic routines.”
Movies Hate You Too: “Continuing the theme of lazy film making the screenwriters don’t even bother to hide the fact that they ripped off much of the boy/girl story from Dirty Dancing.”
