The latest Movie of the Month has been decided upon!
There have been many proven methods of winning a Movie of the Month poll. You can email-blast everyone you know to get them to vote for, say, Demolition Man. You can plug away time and again with the same film until the likes of, say, White Men Can’t Jump eventually wins. Or you can wait for a month where yours is the only film put forward, pushing, say, Bully, onto the world. But the one way that always seems to work, and which was first tested earlier this year by Elwood with Southland Tales, is tweeting at some of the people behind your chosen film, and hoping they retweet. That’s exactly what happened this month, with Todd mentioning Zack Galligan and Joe Dante in his tweeting pleads for your votes, meaning come December we’ll be talking about Gremlins.
As he won the poll Todd gains a spot on the upcoming Lambcast devoted to Gremlins, and even gets to host the discussion segment should he so choose.
As always, when that Lambcast is posted, any reviews the rest of the LAMB wishes to write about the film in question will be posted too. Please send in any submissions – new or old – to jaycluitt(at)hotmail.com by Monday 7th December. That day will also see the next poll go up, so if you would like to champion the first Movie of the Month winner of 2016, be sure to get in touch.
Here are the results of this month’s poll:
Forgotten Films will be ineligible to champion a MOTM contender for the next three months. Life vs Film still has two months of ineligibility left. Journeys in Classic Film will be ineligible for one more month. Man I Love Films in now eligible again.
