The first film of the late Val Kilmer, was chosen as the MOTM after being suggested by Jeanette Ward from “The Mundane Adventures of a Fangirl” blog. Almost two years ago she promoted “Real Genius” to MOTM status. It appears that Jeanette has a thing for Mr. Kilmer. After watching the film, you will know why. Kilmer was a natural at comedy, and he could actually sing, as was required by this mash up of Elvis and WWII movies.

David Zucker, Jim Abrahams and Jerry Zucker reinvented comedy with the off the wall visuals and non-sequiturs of “Airplane!” and here they take it even farther and maybe funnier. While they did not write a book about “Top Secret!” the way they did with “Airplane!” there is plenty of material here to work with if any of you are interested in putting together a sequel.

There may not be an analytical discussion of comedy genres and directing techniques on the show, but there is plenty of laughter as we pick our favorite songs, supporting characters, visual gags and assorted other goodies to talk about. It’s a breezy hour with your friends, talking about a movie that we loved, back like we were kids at recess recalling the film we saw over the weekend to our buddies.
