It’s Halloween (barely) and we’re finishing off 2016’s horror month by sitting around the campfire and revealing the movies that scared us, so stick a marshmallow on a stick, hold your flashlight under your chin and get ready to be far from terrified. In fact you’re more likely to feel embarrassed at the kind of thing that apparently scares us. Especially Damien.
Joining Jay Cluitt for this ghoulish gab-session are Matthew Stewart, Damien Riley, Zoe Rose Smith and newcomer Audrey Fox, and there’s a whole bunch of voicemails too. Also, get ready to hear a lot of people blame their parents for stuff, declare fears of clowns, and continue the debate over whether Jaws is really a horror film (it is).
Also on tap: Rants and Raves of the Week and an almost-connected game of Last Lamb Standing.
Some of the scenes we discussed on the show:
Tusk – Wallace wakes up
The Exorcist III – Somebody call a nurse
Jaws – Quint’s dinner
The Village – Those we don’t speak of
The Shining – Bath time
Audition – The eye of the needle
Signs – Did you see that?
Voicemails from:
Will Slater from Exploding Helicopter
Sofia da Costa from Film Flare and Across the Universe
The Vern from The Vern’s Video Vortex, As You Watch and The Film Pasture
Dan Heaton from Public Transportation Snob
Mette Kowalski from French Toast Sunday and Across the Universe
