It’s time to announce May’s Movie of the Month! We get a lot of different types of films submitted for the Movie of the Month poll, but May’s winner is definitely the first of its kind to win. What its kind is though, I’m not quite sure, even though I’ve seen it before. This month, the film that received the most votes and which will have a Lambcast episode devoted to it is…...
As you should already know by now, Jake Gyllenhaal is our actor of the month in the Acting School 101 feature, being hosted by me, MovieRob. Alongside the monthly blogathon held here on the LAMB site, I will also be hosting a monthly podcast episode devoted to the actor and their roles, and wouldn’t you know it but that’s this very show here!
I was joined by Jess Manzo from French Toast Sunday to discuss all thing Jake...
It’s the end of an era on the Lambcast. Jay has hosted since episode 200, but he’s now heading off for pastures new, and leaving Richard the keys to the Lambcast paddock. In commemoration, he threw himself a leaving party and invited all your favourite Lambcast guests to join in the fun! This show is the longest in Lambcast history, over 4 hours of mostly film-related nonsense and entertainment, enjoy!
Listen to the...
All aboard the latest Lambcast Movie of the Month show! It’s a direct show to the original Taking of Pelham 123, with brief stops at the supporting characters, remakes, score, fashions, of-the-time racism and sexism and anything else we fancied discussing along the way.
Jay and Richard were joined by Aaron, Lindsay and Will to discuss May’s Movie of the Month, rants and raves of the week and a very colourful...
So there’s no new releases at the cinemas and we’re all stuck at home in quarantine? Well, let’s make some lemonade out of these lemons and finally hold another Lamby-Weds show!
The notoriously difficult to schedule Lamby-Weds game is back, with podcasting and blogging “couples” competing to see who knows each other the best, and who just likes to hang out together and chat about films....
No matter how much we keep complaining about them, they still keep making movies! Let’s take a look ahead at the films we’re most looking forward to over the next year.
Jay was joined by Tony, Jess, DJ, Rebecca and Doug for what turned out to be a pretty long but also hugely enjoyable show! Also thanks to Richard, Amanda, Audrey, Rishabh, Rob, Mark, Nick, Simon, Aaron, Bubbawheat, Troy, Meg, Katy and Tim for...
It’s the LAMB’s 100th Movie of the Month! And the 3rd MOTM winner directed by Stanley Kubrick! And the 1st to feature an underground New York sex party (I think).
Nick Rehak takes the MOTM champion chair for the first time to host the discussion of Kubrick’s final film, and he was joined by Jay, Jess and Chris to delve through the film’s seedy underbelly, Nicole Kidman’s career and Tom...
The latest Movie of the Month has been decided upon! November is theme-free, so as usual a wide selection of films were submitted, but only one could win. For this November we’ll be tackling a film from a director who has won twice before with The Shining and 2001: A Space Odyssey, but this time around we’ll be discussing his last film… Eyes Wide Shut!
Congratulations to Nick Rehak from French Toast...
Horror month continues! This week we’re looking at an Oscar-winning director primarily known for delving into the worlds of ghosts and monsters, Guillermo del Toro.
Jay and Richard were joined by Courtney, Nick and James to discuss del Toro’s non-franchise films, whilst also touching on the importance of a good internet connection, painful whiskey drinking and proper beam structures to support large quantities of...
No, we’re not joking, it’s the 500th episode!
As far as we’re concerned 500 episodes is worth celebrating, so to mark this momentous milestone regular hosts Jay and Richard thought the best solution would be, after being on many, many shows together in an only audio format, to actually meet in person and record a show in the same gosh-darn room. So Richard, along wit his daughter and regular guest Amanda,...
Previously we’ve held drafts on films released in 1984, 1987 and 1999, and now 1989 is joining this illustrious group as we compete to build teams of films for you to vote upon!
Richard and Jay were joined by Tank, Todd, Mark and Marc for some very unorthodox picks, but also a big celebration of films reaching their 30th birthday. You can vote on the teams below, but listen to the show first, it’s very...
For our first dedicated female-directed special Movie of the Month we’re looking at a film that doesn’t shy away from tackling some big issues head on. The Breadwinner may not be the most well known film, but it’s still worthy of seeking out.
Jay and Richard were joined by the film’s champion, Tony, as well as Jess to discuss the animation, lack of bread-making and many depressing story aspects of the...
