In 1968, “2001 A Space Odyssey” changed science fiction films forever. Before that movie, most SciFi movies were low budget, horror related, or exceptions to those rules. That means there were still plenty of good (and not so good) movies for audiences to both enjoy and be stimulated by. This week on the LAMBcast, we put those films to the Pepsi challenge.
Aaron Neuwirth by passed “Godzilla” on the first round, but you knew he was headed there from the very beginning. Dave Anderson was the last to choose in the first round and the first to choose in the second round, so he complained and cheered at the same time. Right out of the box, Tony Cogan started well with one of the definitive morality tales in Science Fiction, he followed up with some domestic (for his part of the world) choices and the oldest film on the list.

Matt Poirier was a last minute replacement for a late drop. By last minute I mean he got plugged in after the first three picks and being briefed on the format 30 second before. He stayed true to his Direct to Video roots. Finally, Richard was simply happy that every time it was his turn, a banger was still sitting there waiting to be plucked.
So come listen to us have some fun, talk about some movies you know well and discover some you don’t but will want to.
