The last real movie star is the subject of this week’s loaded episode. Tom Cruise has made over 50 movies and the vast majority of them have been quite successful. He is currently enjoying a successful run for the Eighth and supposedly final film in the “Mission Impossible” franchise that he launched as a producer back in 1996.

This week we put together a monster of a show where four guests and the host participate in a draft of Cruise films to create the best slate of films that you can vote on. The poll will go up soon and it will be linked here, but first a few highlights of the show.

Justin Gott could hardly contain himself as he was able to get everything on his list save for one Mission Impossible film that he wanted. His disappointment was tempered by the pleasure that he took in finding out someone besides him also prefers that film. Jeanette Ward is a bit skeptical of Tom Cruise, so her strategy was to pick films that Cruise was in, that were not necessarily Tom Cruise vehicles. Stuart Bannerman chose films strictly based on his assessment of their quality or his enthusiasm for them. Meanwhile, three time draft winner Aaron Neuwirth considers his choices with an eye clearly on securing a fourth victory in a row.

Every Tom Cruise film selected received a vigorous evaluation by the entire group, which accounts for the length of the show. The artistic and commercial elements of each film were scrutinized and where they came up short, our crew of bloggers, podcasters, and influencers had lots of opinions. If you want a good, deep look at the films, this show was not just fun and games, although we did have a lot of fun.

Round One 2:41

Round Two 36:42
