A whole new cast of characters join the Toy Story lineup, and our old favorites are back as well. This time the threat to the toys comes from another plaything, an electronic game/social media platform known as “LilyPad”. Is Bonnie ready to handle elementary school Queen Bees? Are the tangible toys now irrelevant? Will you get a tear in your eye before the end of the film? We will attempt to answer these questions in this week’s episode.

Todd Liebenow of the Forgotten Filmcast joins Richard in a lookback at the legacy of the original “Toy Story” and a bit of personal history as well. The issue of social media and the changing nature of interpersonal friendships, leads to some deep territory, and you may get a tear or two not from the movie but from old friends reflecting on their connection.

We will of course talk about the movie as well. Every time a new “Toy Story” film gets announced, fan ask “why” and hold their breath in fear of the beloved films being besmirched by a new film that fails to live up to Pixar’s high standards for the franchise. Will we be heaving a sigh of relief, or pounding the table at the abomination passing itself off as a “Toy Story” film? You will have to listen to find out, but you won’t have to wait long, we tip our hands pretty early.
