The legendary Spinal Tap returns to the big screen, 41 years after the original film, in a legacy sequel that asks the question, “Clever or Stupid”?
The mayhem is enhanced by the return of Damein Riley as a guest. The “Riley on Film” podcaster isn’t entirely convinced of the musical gifts of Nigel Tufnel, David St. Hubbins and Derek Smalls, but he does like his bottoms big so he may be an advocate of some of the movie. Howard Casner only has criticism of the premise that Tap made it big after the first film, but everything else worked for him.

The Stonehenge prop gets an update, and the problem of the performance from 41 years ago is reversed. Elton John makes a special onstage appearance to let us know what exactly happened to the druids. Other musical guests include Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, Paul McCartney and a list of drummers who are worried that they may spontaneously combust if they take the gig.
You may not choke on your own or anyone else’s vomit, but you are likely to choke on what Sir Paul has to say about Pink Torpedoes. Some come listen to the podcast and enjoy a group of podcasters, old enough to have lived through Taps original iteration, commiserate about mockumentaries, bands that people love to hate, and theories about movie attendance.
