The June MOTM could have come up in the previous MOTM Genre of Film Noir, it is heavily influenced by the tropes of the Noir genre, especially the black and white imagery and shadows and the sense of doom that pervades the environment, but it is also a heist film and that was the genre for June. Thgere bwas a liitle difficult getting the recoding arranged so this is being posted in July, but no worries, nest weeks episode is the July MOTM and we will be right on track.

Howard Casner leads the discussion with Richard and Dave Anderson along for the caper. If you speak French, all the better, but the language of film comes through loud and clear in this slow burn crime thriller that turns the heist movie on it’s head in the end. Director Jean-Pierre Melville is a favorite of Howard’s and Dave Anderson is in the middle of a deep dive into all of his films, so you are in good hands for this show.

Come and listen, you know you want to.
