It’s been a while since we’ve done a mammoth director retrospective, covering the entire career of a director with more than a handful of films. Usually we tend to cover more prestige film-makers with mostly consistent outputs, but alas that’s not the case this week.
Jay was joined by Bubbawheat and Todd for a full run through of every film M. Night Shyamalan has ever directed. Why did we do this? It’s...
Every day until the Oscars ceremony we’ll be highlighting a different category or movie here on the LAMB! Here’s a link to all the posts written so far: https://largeassmovieblogs.com/2018/01/the-lamb-devours-the-oscars-2018-roster.html
Today, MovieRob is kicking off our in-depth look at the Oscar nominations with his take on the first of our Best Picture nominees, The Post.
I have always been a huge fan of...
We’re closing off both December and 2017 as a whole this week, meaning this is a bumper Lambscores addition as not only does it include a bunch of the awards season movies but also all the smaller films from earlier in the year that took a little longer to accrue enough reviews. As such I won’t go on for much longer other than to say here’s what the LAMB community thought about a whole herd of movies:
As mentioned here, we’ve launched this year’s LAMB Devours The Oscars feature, and here is where I’ll be linking to all the posts! Below is a list of all the features and who has signed up for them – if you want to sign up for a category that doesn’t have a name next to it, email Jay on [email protected], or get in touch on Twitter (@LambThe).
Actor in a Supporting Role –...
LAMB Devours The Oscars is here! It was a big success last year so it’s back for 2018! If you’re new or unfamiliar, The LAMB Devours The Oscars will see a LAMB member cover a different award each day (hopefully!) from today until this year’s ceremony on Sunday March 4th. That’s all 23 categories except Best Picture, with each of the NINE picture nominees receiving a dedicated post. You can do a...
This week on the Lambcast, we’re talking! You know, like we normally do, but about a bunch of different things. Still movies, obviously, but, well, listen and find out!
Jay was joined by Howard, Heather, Cameron and Damien to discuss monsters, disasters, favourites, under-rated films and Woody Allen, amongst other things.
Also on tap: Rants and Raves of the Week and a new game!

The latest Movie of the Month has been decided upon!
The votes are in for the next Movie of the Month. It was a close call this month, with four movies all tied for first place for a long time, but a last minute run took two ahead of the pack, leaving the next winner to take the pole position by just one vote. So, for February 2018 the movie of the month is… Twelve Monkeys.…

...It’s not often that I give a film its lowest rating of all those submitted, but that’s the case this week with Star Wars: The Last Jedi. I didn’t hate it, but I also found precious little of it to be actually entertaining, and the rest – especially the first 90 minutes – was outright dull. Clearly I’m in the minority though, as one of the most-reviewed and definitely the most-seen film of the year...
It’s January, the month where the studios seem to dump their non-awards-worthy fare, so instead of wasting your time listening to podcasts about bad movies, why not listen to us talk about… oh, darn, we’re discussing Ishtar. Sorry about that.
Jay was joined by Ishtar‘s champion Richard, along with a panel ranging from bemused to annoyed, but made up of Rebecca, Sean and Chris.
