This is more like it! I’ve been complaining these past couple of weeks about the usual January dreck filling up these Lambscores posts, but finally we’ve got at least a couple of films with positive reviews amongst them. Hurrah! Here’s what the LAMB community had to say about the new xXx movie, a biopic on the man behind McDonalds, and an M. Night Shyamalan movie that people actually like (there’s three things I never...
The January releases haven’t gotten any better this week, folks! Not enough people reviewed either Monster Trucks or Sleepless (can’t say I blame them), which means all we’re left with is The Bye Bye Man, which I’m assuming is either a horror movie or a biopic of Lance Bass. Anyway, here’s what the LAMB community had to say about it:
The Bye Bye Man
Looks like we’re kicking off the 2017 releases with some fairly typical January fare – a horror sequel not a lot of people asked for, which has been received about as well as anybody would really expect. Ah well, I guess we have to start somewhere, don’t we? I feel like if Kate Beckinsale didn’t appear in all these Underworld films, maybe her incredible performance in 2016’s Love &...
We’ve reached the end of January, so this is the last Lambscores covering films from 2016, and we’re closing things out with a couple of Oscar nominees, a well-received true-life drama and Ben Affleck’s disappointing follow-up to Argo. Here’s what the LAMB community had to say about Hidden Figures, 20th Century Women, Patriot’s Day and Live By Night:
There’s so many films to discuss this week! As usual, a bus-load of movies got released for that post-Christmas break, and that bus seems to have been driven by Paterson, which has become another of 2016’s highest rated films. Also in the discussion today are the likes of Silence, A Monster Calls, Passengers, Assassin’s Creed and Sing, as well as a bunch of smaller films of varying degrees of quality. So, without further...
The new Star Wars movie may have dominated at the box office, but that rarely means it also received the best reviews. Well this week we finally find out just what everyone thought about it, as the community reaction is stacked up against the likes of Fences and Collateral Beauty. Here’s what we all have to say:
Fences

It’s the first LAMBScores of the new year! We’re still of course looking at films from 2016, so there’s still time for these films to make it onto the leaderboard, which is exactly what has happened! Check out what the LAMB community has to say about Christine, Miss Sloane, Office Christmas Party and La La Land:

There’s a selection of smaller films for you this week, as the only major release was Jackie, but a bunch of others have now earned enough reviews for qualification. Therefore, here’s what the LAMB community also has to say about Elle, Under the Shadow, Bleed For This and Denial:
Under the Shadow

Two films this week, one a strong contender for the Best Animated Feature awards, and the other a film that looked promising early on, but sadly received enough lacklustre reviews to discount it from many of the big prizes. Here’s what the LAMB community had to say about Moana and Allied:

We’re well and truly knee-deep in awards season right now, so it must be time for the cinemas to fill up with dramas, and there’s three in store for you this week. They all sound pretty solid, and there’s thirteen different 5-star reviews amongst the round-up today! Here’s what the LAMB community has to say about Loving, Nocturnal Animals and Manchester By The Sea:
Two films this week, one an under-seen but apparently quite good teen comedy, the other a disappointing spin-off that will hopefully lead to more promising sequels. Here’s what the LAMB community had to say about The Edge of Seventeen and Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them:

Just the one release for you this week, but fortunately it’s a good one, Denis Villeneuve’s Arrival. Here’s what the LAMB community had to say:
