It’s Blusterin’ Time!

If you’re new to this feature or need a refresher, click the label at the bottom of this post and see the first few posts. Otherwise, here are the basics:

What I do is list a site; you critique it. But here’s the catch: to induce the most honest reactions, don’t leave the comment using your normal alias/login – instead, go anonymous, and be as brutally honest (or complimentary) as you wish to be. Also, be specific, and naturally, don’t be rude. If I deem anything inappropriate, I’ll have no problem deleting the comment.

So, go to the site listed below, familiarize yourself with it for a few minutes, then come back and leave some constructive criticism and/or comments that you have.

And remember: Blustering should be a two-way street; if you’ve asked to be blustered, you better be a blusterer.

  1. I think the content is solid, but I’d suggest focusing on the design. I believe the three columns approach is a bit too busy and actually distracts from the main content. Also, because the column on the left is so narrow, some words don’t fit on one line, so they end up sliding a letter or two onto the next page. There may be a way to have extra information on both sides of the main content, but right now, it appears to be a bit much.

  2. First of all, your spelling, syntax, and grammar are excellent. You would think this would be a given but many people feel that proper English is somehow optional. I also like the feature in which you ask people on Twitter the first thing they think of when they hear the title of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off; that was a very creative use of Twitter and a great idea to post the results on your blog. Finally, I like that you cover a variety of genres. Great site.

  3. Thank you both for the positives about the content. I try to have different posts just to keep things interesting.

With respect to design, I know it’s not a great excuse but between having four blogs and my non-blog life (father, business) I sometimes don’t get time. Also I’m learning how to design better. I’ll keep the points in mind. Thank you
