Brutally Blog Blustering #62 – Aziza’s Picks

It’s Blusterin’ Time!

If you’re new to this feature or need a refresher, click the label at the bottom of this post and see the previous posts. Otherwise, here are the basics:

What I do is list a site; you critique it. But here’s the catch: to induce the most honest reactions, don’t leave the comment using your normal alias/login – instead, go anonymous, and be as brutally honest (or complimentary) as you wish to be. Also, be specific, and naturally, don’t be rude. If I deem anything inappropriate, I’ll have no problem deleting the comment.

Site: Aziza’s Picks
LAMB#: 1181

And remember: Blustering should be a two-way street; if you’ve asked to be blustered, you better be a blusterer.

If you would like to have your blog blustered by fellow LAMBs, please send me an email containing your site’s info and “Bluster Me!” in the subject line.

Writing wise I think you have a very distinct and captivating voice.

Design wise you might considering adding a more concrete about you section with a more proper contact form to get in touch with you. As of now I can’t find a e-mail address for example. I’d also replace the twitter widget because its very bland and don’t really draw any attention to itself.

Thank you very much! I appreciate the comment and the suggestions are very good, I will do that!

I like the simple design of the page, especially the birds in the corner. The writing is very good as well, although I did see a couple typos in the three or so articles I read.

Great writing and the length is perfect–long enough to give us a good idea about the film, but short enough that we read all the way through.

My biggest suggestion is that you should add a way for people to subscribe to your page, through RSS and/or email. You have the blogger followers and google friends, but those of us using other platforms don’t have a way to get your information “pushed” to us. Given the high quality of your reviews, I think you would get a lot of return traffic if you added that.

@Anon1: Thanks. Sorry for the typos: sometimes I write my posts late at night, when I’m tired (bad, I know), plus, I am not a native English speaker, so I am trying my best 🙂
@Anon2: Thank you, that is a great suggestion, I will add a Subscribe my mail gadget very soon!

I’m a regular reader and love the site. Very impressed that you are not a native English speaker… wish I could speak another language as well as you write English! Liking the mini-marathons. Keep up the good work!
