The latest Movie of the Month has been decided upon!
This month there we’re having a special Movie of the Month, franchise edition! Seven potential franchises were put forward of varying lengths and themes, from one movie split into two parts to a quartet with a fifth instalment being released in a few months time, but the somewhat unexpected winner was a series of four movies from some time ago, which frankly I didn’t even realise was a franchise until recently. That’s right, the Franchise of the Month is Airport.
Congratulations and expressions of disbelief should be poitned towards Will Slater of Exploding Helicopter, who hopefully can explain how this came to win, because I have no idea. Seriously, there’s apparently four of these movies! I barely knew there was one! Anyway, in championing the victorious movie, Will gets to host the upcoming Lambcast devoted to it. There’s still an open Wild Card slot on that show (recording date Sunday April 5th, 9am Pacific [That’s Easter Sunday, FYI]), so if you want to discuss the various aircraft that presumably get destroyed throughout these films then please leave a message in the comments section.
As always, when that Lambcast is posted, any reviews the rest of the LAMB wishes to write about the films in question will be posted too. Please send in any submissions – new or old – to jaycluitt(at)hotmail.com by Monday 6th April. That day will also see the next poll go up, which will be back to the traditional single-movie idea, so if you would like to champion a film for May’s MOTM, be sure to get in touch as well.
Here are the results of this month’s poll:
Exploding Helicopter will be ineligible to become a Champion for the next three months. Forgotten Films is ineligible for two more months. To The Escape Hatch has one month of ineligibility left. From the Depths of DVD Hell becomes eligible next month.
