John Hughes has shaped a lot of childhoods. If you grew up in the 80s or 90s, chances are you’ve seen his movies, and hopefully you at least liked a few of them, but maybe you’re curious about the rest of his work. Did you miss Sixteen Candles on initial release? Has Weird Science alluded you for years? Do you need proof that She’s Having A Baby and Curly Sue actually exist? Well then listen to this week’s show!
Jay Cluitt was joined by Todd Liebenow, Dylan Fields, Will Slater and Chris Ramey to discuss all eight films directed by Hughes, covering stalker Anthony Michael Hall, Bill Paxton as a giant turd and how it’s possible for somebody not to like Uncle Buck. No prizes for guessing the culprit there. Also on tap: a couple of games of Last Lamb Standing.
The show can be found, of course, via iTunes – just do a search for “LAMBcast.” Also, I always post a link to the show on the LAMBcast’s Facebook page, and there’s a player there if you’d like to listen online.
