It’s a bit of a race this week to see who is the most annoying character in two controversial new films. Apparently, the main qualification to be in the running for that honor is to have at least a billion dollars somewhere. That counts the host and our guest The Vern, from Cinema Recall, out of the competition.

There are two opinions on “Digger” that are about as far apart as you can get without people shouting at each other (which, by the way, you will get in the film). The biggest bomb of Tom Cruise’s career comes in for scrutiny and no one is shy about sharing their perspective on the film.

The other film, “The Social Reckoning”, is less divisive but does prompt some differences of opinion on social media, although there is general agreement on the film’s quality. We get into the weeds a bit concerning free speech and the need for guardrails.
