The latest Movie of the Month has been decided upon!

LAMBMOTM18

In the past few years January’s Movie of the Month has traditionally been something of a cult choice – this hasn’t been planned, it’s just how it worked out – with the likes of TimeCop. Southland Tales and Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins taking the crown, but for 2017 the options were all a little more well respected, with Timecrimes, Groundhog Day, The Man Who Would Be King, Ex Machina and The Maltese Falcon being the films to choose from. The LAMB community has voted and, with just two votes separating the top three picks, the film we’ll be discussing next month is… Ex Machina!

Congratulations go to Kristen Lopez of Journeys in Classic Film, whose perseverance putting this film forward several months in a row has finally paid off. In winning the poll Kristen gets the chance to host the upcoming Lambcast devoted to the film.

As always, when the Lambcast show is posted, any reviews the rest of the LAMB wishes to write about the film in question will be posted too. Please send in any submissions – new or old – to jaycluitt(at)hotmail.com by Monday 9th January. Around that day will also see the next poll go up, so if you would like to champion the Movie of the Month for February 2017, get in touch.

Here are the results of this month’s poll:

Journeys in Classic Film will be ineligible to champion a MOTM contender for the next three months. Flights, Tights and Movie Nights still has two months of ineligibility left. The 1001 Movies Podcast will be ineligible for one more month. Almost Ginger is now eligible again.
