Last night/this morning the results of the Oscars were slapped into our faces with great fanfare and aplomb, yet they missed perhaps the biggest award of them all – the winner of April’s franchise special Movie of the Month poll! This oversight has been noted and we’re here today to rectify it, right this very instant. Ten franchises (or almost-franchises) were submitted, campaigning was attempted and many votes were cast, but there can only be one winner. So, for April 2022 we’ll be talking about… The Lord of the Rings!

Congratulations go to Heather Baxendale-Walsh of the MILFcast for successfully championing Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy to victory, and as such she gets to gather a fellowship of podcasters to record the upcoming Lambcast episode within the fires of Mount Doom. Here’s the voting breakdown for the poll:

If you would like to submit a film for a future MOTM poll, get in touch! May is a standard Movie of the Month poll, no theme, and June will see the return of the female-directed special. Heather Baxendale-Walsh, Emily Slade, Richard Kirkham and David Brook are now ineligible to champion films for the rest of 2022.
