A beautiful blue sky, a desert setting, with mountain peaks in the background and fantastic cars in the driveway. This is the utopia that was promised to Americans at the end of WWII. Is it still the dream that motivates men and women into making foolish choices? We are going to find out on this week’s Lambcast.
We know something is not right in Victory, the town occupied by all the beautiful young couples that star in the film, but what is it that is off? Florence Pugh is clearly not the thing that is off in this film because all of this weeks guests praised her work. Surprisingly, we don’t all pile on Harry Styles for his acting chops or lack thereof. Maybe director Olivia Wilde is the thing that is off, in this ambitious visual fantasy. It may simply be the concept and script that is rotten in Denmark.
“Don’t Worry Darling” has generated plenty of gossip and we have to give in to that a little bit because, let’s face it, it is kind of fun.
Maybe everything will not make sense but it is pretty to look at and you can drool over the cars, the houses or the beautiful people while you are thinking about it. Thomas Stoneham Judge, Lisa Leaheey, Howard Casner and James Wilson join Richard in following Alice down this rabbit hole, you have to decide whether to take the blue pill or the red.
