The poll results are in – thank you to the 78 voters (a new high again!) who have made The Third Man the next MOTM (we’re gonna have a string of movies that start with “The Thi-” going here, if we’re lucky). Here’s what needs to go down from here:
* The first thing you need to know is that July 16th is the big day.
* You have four weeks to watch the flick if you haven’t already,...
It seemed inevitable that The Thing would finally become the MOTM, after a couple progressively better showings in the polls (just as it seems inevitable that The Third Man will win one of these months). Good thing, too (no pun intended), as it’s a hell of a film. Interestingly enough, it wasn’t deemed a classic (and wasn’t commercially successful, either) upon its release, where it barely earned its budget back and arrived...
Reminder: The LAMBcast/MOTM blog-a-thon extravaganza for The Thing happens this Saturday! Send your links for posts/reviews to [email protected] (or new email address, [email protected]) by 6:00 AM Pacific on the 11th.
Also – if you have any suggestions for movies that you want to get on the poll for future MOTMs, get them in now.
Thanks!

I posted this on Facebook, but wanted to put the note up here as well: due to scheduling conflicts, the MOTM blog-a-thon (and the posting of the MOTM-themed LAMBcast) will be happening on Monday rather than today. The good news – this gives you more time to get your posts/reviews of Oldboy in!
Send all links to [email protected]. Thanks!
