We’ve got two movies for you this week. First up is Annihilation, Alex Garland’s follow-up to Ex Machina, which went straight to Netflix everywhere outside of the US (fine by me, it means I’ve seen it), and then there’s Game Night, which sounds far better than expected. Check them out, and check out the reviews from the LAMB community:
Annihilation
I don’t mean to disrespect the previous few weeks of Lambscores, but I think it’s fair to say that today is where 2018’s films really begin, at least in terms of spectacle. Paddington 2 may still hold the top spot for the year so far (a fact I am in no way annoyed by), but in terms of a cultural milestone and slice of event cinema you can’t really compare anything so far to Black Panther. As such I...
Apologies for the lack of Lambscores post these past few weeks, but things are back to normal now with a back log of reviews for the movies we should have covered in the past month. Here’s what the LAMB community had to say about them:
Peter Rabbit
LAMB Average: 3.20 (5 sites)
The MN Movie Man (4)
The Code is Zeek (3.5)
Citizen Charlie (3)

We’ve got three films for you this week, but really we only need to worry about one. Yes, The Commuter and Proud Mary were released and reviewed, but guys, Paddington 2 is where everyone should be going. It takes an early lead on 2018’s leaderboard, and it’s my prediction that it;ll be staying there for at least a little while, and if it’s not on there at the end of the year then this will...
As usual we’re kicking off the year’s LAMBscores coverage with a movie that’s, well, not very good. January is oft-regarded as something of a post-awards-season dumping ground, and 2018 doesn’t seem to be deviating from that tradition. As such, here’s the LAMB community’s thoughts on Insidious: The Last Key:

We’re closing off both December and 2017 as a whole this week, meaning this is a bumper Lambscores addition as not only does it include a bunch of the awards season movies but also all the smaller films from earlier in the year that took a little longer to accrue enough reviews. As such I won’t go on for much longer other than to say here’s what the LAMB community thought about a whole herd of movies:
Four films for you this week. Here’s what the LAMB community had to say about The Greatest Showman, Jumanji, Pitch Perfect 3 and Downsizing:
The Greatest Showman

The Michigan Movie Guy (5)
Kirkham A Movie A Day (4.5)

It’s not often that I give a film its lowest rating of all those submitted, but that’s the case this week with Star Wars: The Last Jedi. I didn’t hate it, but I also found precious little of it to be actually entertaining, and the rest – especially the first 90 minutes – was outright dull. Clearly I’m in the minority though, as one of the most-reviewed and definitely the most-seen film of the year...
There’s no big new releases this week (only Just Getting Started, which frankly didn’t get started) so we’re using this opportunity to cover some of the smaller films that took a little longer to acquire more than 5 reviews, and that’s a good thing too, because two of this week’s movies have made their way onto the Top 10 list:
Call Me By Your Name
LAMB...
We’ve had a few weeks of so-called “lesser” movies, but this week we’ve got something special – not just one but two new movies that have both made their way onto the Top 10 Films of the Year! Here’s what the LAMB community had to say about The Shape of Water and The Disaster Artist:
The Shape of Water
LAMB Average: 4.32 (11...
Apologies for being a couple of days late this week, as with a lot of people this time of year, it gets pretty busy. Anyway, here’s what the LAMB Community had to say about Coco and Darkest Hour:
