IT’S THE 300TH SHOW!
Milestones aren’t really our thing on the Lambcast, but I had an idea for the 300th show that was just too good to pass up. Lambpardy! has been a staple of the Lambcast since the early days, and over the show’s run so far there’s been a total of seven winners, but which of them is truly the best? There can really be only one way to find out!
…
It’s time for another game of Lambpardy! Let’s meet today’s contestants:
First up is returning champion Todd Liebenow from Forgotten Films, who claims his winning streak is predominantly based on never saying anything unless it’s in the form of a question. Challenging Todd today are Lambpardy newcomers Will Slater from Exploding Helicopter – a man who hopes his complete disinterest in anything...
The results are in, and the people have spoken!
A few weeks ago you may remember a Lambcast episode devoted to the careers of Sly Stallone and Arnie Schwarzenegger, upon which Jay Cluitt, Dylan Fields, Nolahn, Shane Young and David Brook each selected a “team” of films from these stars. You, the public, then got a chance to vote on what you believed to be the “best” team, and I think it’s fair to...
Hopefully by know you’ve had a chance to catch up with the latest actor draft over at the Lambcast, this time dedicated to action titans Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone. If you haven’t listened yet you’re missing out, and I urge you to rectify this situation immediately, via this handy-dandy link. Either way, now it’s time to vote for whoever you think managed to compile the best movie team. Here they...
We’ve done actor drafts on the Lambcast before, but never anything this epic. Host Jay Cluitt was joined by Nolahn, Shane Young, David Brook and former-host Dylan Fields to raid the careers of the Austrian Oak and the Italian Stallion in order to compile the best roster of movies possible.
The teams they eventually came up with will be posted in a few days to be voted on so be sure to head back here then to vote, but...
Recently on the LAMBcast, we had a very intricate, duly-researched, overly complex fantasy draft involving character actors (North American only). You’ve had some time to listen to and digest the amazing choices that Jay, Dan, Nick P. and myself made, and now it’s time to separate the Buscemis from the Turturros (well, except that neither was deemed draftable on the show – have a listen to find out why). Anyway,...
The insanity of the Nic Cage Draft has finally left us, so we return to our regular “draft” programming, taking a left turn away from choosing the films of a particular star and instead choosing our favorite character actors. Now, as I mention a number of times on the show, doing such a category was very tricky, what with attempting to define who belongs in that category (are they still there?, etc.). So what did we do? Made...
Nick over at The Cinematic Katzenjammer is hosting an end-of-the-year event that gives out awards to both movies and bloggers. Appropriately named The Golden Katz, this award show is a way of giving love to some movies that won’t necessarily receive some attention come award season as well as some appreciation back to the movie blogging community.
For now, you can nominate yourself, your favorite blogs, and your favorite films...
As some of you may know already, once every three months or so I dedicate an entire week to Nicolas Cage. Each of theses weeks proves wildly entertaining and as I discover more about The Cage, his talent, and what makes the man tick, I always wonder what other people think of this work of art. Yes, he’s crazy. Yes, he’s always screaming. But for some reason or another I cannot look away. He’s a lot like a horrible car...
