Welcome back to another movie game brought to you by Bubbawheat. Last week’s Invasion of the Lambs was from Superman: The Movie, the scene where Lex Luthor is in his library with his two henchmen. This week is something a little different that I came up with myself, though of course it’s not a fully original game. It’s called Lamb Chop-Ups where I chop up a bunch of movie posters and your job is to guess what movies they came from. But that’s not all, there’s also a movie that’s hinted at through wordplay or is connected in some way to all the other movies used. If you don’t know all the movies, go ahead and guess what you do know. If you’ve been to my site before, the theme for this one shouldn’t surprise you. Click through to see the first image and start guessing!

Some notes: While I try to use official movie posters, I don’t always use the most well-known posters and I may unintentionally use fan posters. All posters are taken from the first couple pages of a Google Image search for “(movie title) poster”. Be on the lookout for other tricks and misdirections I may use. Either the first person to get all the answers right, or whoever gets the most right gets 10 points on the leaderboard, the first person to get the bonus movie correct will get 5 points, and everyone else will get 1 point for being the first person to guess each letter correctly, so be sure to toss out your guesses even if you don’t know them all at once.

This round so far:
Life vs. Film – 15 points
Dust Raven – 8 points
Joel Burman – 1 point

S – Iron Man 2 – Live vs. Film
U – Iron Man – Joel
P – The Avengers – Life vs. Film (Dust Raven)
E – Captain America – Life vs. Film (Dust Raven)
R – Thor – Dust Raven
H – Hulk – Life vs. Film (Dust Raven)
E – The Incredible Hulk – Dust Raven
R – Iron Man 2 – Dust Raven
O – Thor – Life vs. Film (Dust Raven)

Bonus Movie – The Avengers (Each letter was a film from Marvel’s The Avengers)- Life vs. Film

Leaderboard:
Dust Raven – 18 points
Todd – Forgotten Films: 15 points
Life vs. Film: 15 points
Joel Burman: 1 point

  1. Just wanna say I’m glad somebody brought this idea to the LAMB. I’ve seen it before elsewhere, but it’s a good enough game for us to have here, as well. My one quibble, though… I’m not sure I agree with using fan posters. Besides that, cool beans!

    1. Thanks, I’m hoping to have some good ones in the future. And the only fan posters I plan on using are ones that are so good that I can’t tell they’re not official (and so popular they show up in the first 2 pages of an image search for the movie poster)

  2. Wow this is really tricky! Kudos to you for coming up with some really difficult lettering. Here’s another line up of guesses – and for some I really mean guesses – in hopes of strengthening my lead.

    S – Fantastic 4
    U – Iron Man
    P – The Avengers
    E – Captain America
    R – The Incredible Hulk
    H – Hulk
    E – X-Men
    R – Iron Man 2
    O – Thor

    Connected movie: The Avengers

    1. Oops, put some in the wrong place, here’s the correction:

      S – Fantastic 4
      U – Iron Man
      P – The Avengers
      E – Captain America
      R – X2
      H – Hulk
      E – The Incredible Hulk
      R – Iron Man 2
      O – Thor

      Connected movie: The Avengers

  3. I’m giving up on the 1st R. It has a somewhat distinct shape, but there’s nothing there to indicate other elements of the image. I’m still holding out hope for the S though. 🙂

  4. Ooooooh!

    S – Captain America
    U – Iron Man
    P – The Avengers
    E – Captain America
    R – Thor
    H – Hulk
    E – The Incredible Hulk
    R – Iron Man 2
    O – Thor

    Connected movie: The Avengers

  5. S – Iron Man 2
    U – Iron Man
    P – The Avengers
    E – Captain America
    R – Thor
    H – Hulk
    E – The Incredible Hulk
    R – Iron Man 2
    O – Thor

    Connected movie: The Avengers

    1. Any chance you can link to the posters? I can’t find the Thor ‘R’ one, I’m intrigued as to why you should receive flak for it (though I’m more than happy to give you some).

    2. Yeah, the “flak” is that the second Thor poster wasn’t a standard theatrical poster, it was a promotional poster given to the cast and crew as a gift. Though it was an official poster, and not a fan-made one at least.
