The movie world is full of superhero teams – The Avengers, Suicide Squad, One Direction – but now we have a definitive voting on which would make the best one. A few weeks ago we held a draft on the Lambcast within which Jay, Bubbawheat, Nick, Joel and DJ all competed to create their best team of superhero movies, and now it’s time to announce the winner.
It’s not often that these polls are cut and dried so quickly into the voting process, but the draft’s winner took an early lead and stuck with it, eventually ending up with more than half of the total votes. Congratulations go once again to recurring draft champion DJ Valentine of Simplistic Reviews, with his team of Iron Man, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Batman, Kick-Ass and The Mask.
You can listen to the show here. Here’s the breakdown for the rest of the voting:
As you can see, I did a terrific job picking my team. Whomever the sole other person, aside from myself, who voted for my team is, congratulations, you wasted your vote too.
If you have an idea for a movie-related draft you’d like to hear in the future, drop a comment on the post, leave a message in the forums or drop the Lambcast a line on Twitter, @lambcast.
Wow, I’m surprised it was this one sided. I actually had a hard time picking (I think I went for Bubbawheat’s) and to be fair Jay, I think your list was pretty good, especially seeing as you’ve got The Incredibles on there which is better than every other film on anyone else’s list.
My estimation is that DJ won it with Guardians & Winter Soldier because most people have very short term memories and those were great, recent movies that many people saw. Nick’s is a bit of a surprise at 2nd place, but I would guess that the Dark Knight first choice carried a lot of weight with voters.
You’re probably right. I’m always more stuck in the past than most I guess. DJ’s list is pretty solid though. I didn’t pick it because I haven’t seen Winter Soldier and think Iron Man is hugely overrated, but the other films on there are great.
Such a surprise seeing my team not at the bottom! Thought X-3 would scare every potential voter off. Kind of surprised seeing Jay being left behind. I though the Incredibles would be the curveball that would attract the bigger audience that doesn’t care for Marvel or DC films.
Thanks for the support David and Joel. I blame losing my spreadsheet. I picked X2 way too early and it went downhill from there. Also, I’m terrible at drafts.
