The latest Movie of the Month has been decided upon!

LAMBMOTM18

For the month of October we’re once again embracing the horrific and covering a horror movie for the Movie of the Month. Last year we looked at Audition, so I was immediately wary of whatever would be suggested this time around. Well, for 2015’s horror Movie of the Month there were fifteen – FIFTEEN! – possible choices: Poltergeist, Swamp Thing, Sweeney Todd, The Babadook, Hausu, The Guest, Young Frankenstein, It Follows, The Orphanage, Them, The People Under The Stairs, Dead Snow 2: Red vs Dead, Tucker and Dale vs Evil, Let The Right One In and 13 Ghosts. Predictably with so many options the vote was very close, in fact there was a 4-way tie that was broken on the most recent Lambcast episode that will be posted soon. Those final four were The Babadook, Poltergeist, The People Under The Stairs and Hausu. Congratulations this month go to Kristen Lopez of Journeys in Classic Film, because in honour of the late Wes Craven we’ll be covering The People Under The Stairs.

In winning the poll Kristen gets a spot on the upcoming Lambcast show devoted to the movie, and gets to host the feature discussion about it as well.

As always, when that Lambcast is posted, any reviews the rest of the LAMB wishes to write about the film in question will be posted too. Please send in any submissions – new or old – to jaycluitt(at)hotmail.com by Monday 12th October. That day will also see the next poll go up, so if you would like to champion a film for November’s MOTM, be sure to get in touch as well.

Here are the results of this month’s poll:

Journeys in Classic Film will be ineligible to champion a MOTM contender for the next three months. Man I Love Films still has two months of ineligibility left. Forgotten Films will be ineligible for one more month. Blueprint: Review in now eligible again.
