A few weeks ago on the Lambcast we held a draft of films from 1989, in which Jay, Richard, Todd, Tank, Marc and Mark all competed to build the best team of movies celebrating their 30th birthdays this year, and now it’s time to announce the winner! Strategies were deployed, amazing films were picked, but in one of the biggest surprises in the LAMB’s draft history, the most derided team on the show is actually the winner. That’s right, Mark Hofmeyer from Movies, Films & Flix takes the 1989 Draft crown!
Mark’s team of Cyborg, Kickboxer, Tango & Cash, Kiki’s Delivery Service and Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers scored enough niche votes from the camps of JCVD, Studio Ghibli and horror sequels to gain him over a third of the total votes, making him the champion. Congratulations, Mark!
If you’ve got an idea for a draft you think we should hold on the Lambcast, get in touch. And if you still want to vote on 1989-movie-themed polls, head over to the LAMB’s Facebook page where we’re determining the best film released in 1989, and none of the film’s left in competition are on Mark’s team!
