It looks like audiences will go to the movies, if the movie is an MCU Spider-Man film. “Spider-Man: No Way Home” is already the most successful new release since the pandemic. The money made on opening weekend dwarfs the total box office of recent “hits” and it is likely to suck up the oxygen for several more weekends. We at the LAMB are not going to let such a success go by without commenting on it, so the first half of this weeks podcast is filled with a spoiler laden discussion of the new movie. We don’t hold back for long, so if you are one of the thirty people world wide who still need to get out to see it, be forewarned that we reveal a number of surprises early in our talk.
If you get a “Peter Tingle” from listening to the show, it’s probably because Jay Cluitt, former host of the Lambcast, has returned to the show for our lookback. We are also joined by Aaron Neuwirth, Cameron Kanachki and Superhero authority Bubbawheat, for a fun filled trip through the Multi-verse, to revisit all of the Spider-Man stand alone films of the last 20 years. It’s a daunting task to take on nine movies in one podcast, but you know that with great powere comes…
So maybe it takes a leap of faith to jump into this task, but after we dissect the new movie, we cover our favorite versions of different characters, do some ret-conning of our own opinions, and generally talk up even the weakest excuses for a Spider-Man film in the last two decade. So get ready to enter the Spider-verse, and maybe give us your own rankings of the movies as well.
