The biggest horror film release in the Summer, and we could only manage to get one guest to connect with the show. Fortunately that guest was the ever reliable Lisa Leaheey, who in addition to always being able to count on, she is a horror junkie, so we let the right one in. Two of our guests looked up and made eye contact and, well, …you know.
Jordan Peele has released his third horror feature, and although Richard and Lisa see his films in a different light from one another, there is agreement that this is a worthy effort. Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer and Brandon Perea star in this suspense thriller that turns out to be a different kind of horror film than you might have expected. There is no M. Night Shyamalan twist, but there are some red herrings that will keep you guessing.
Steven Yuen also appears in the film, and the flashbacks of his character are a movie unto itself. Lisa and Richard speculate about missing scenes, potential plot holes and whether it makes sense in the long run, but they both have positive things to say, and some real life horror stories to go with it.
We can say that no dogs were injured in the making of the film, but if you are a horse person, you might want to look away ay time. Show business is not all that it is cracked up to be. So come and eavesdrop on Richard and Lisa as they try to explain what is going on. And stick around for some extra horror film talk at the end. “What if I told you today you’ll leave here different. Right here, you are going to witness an absolute spectacle.” Maybe that’s an exaggeration, or maybe…it’s the truth. By the way, the first five of you who loaded this get bonus material at the start. Sorry about that.
