“I really enjoy the MCU films, except for the ones I hate”.
So which way are we going to go in evaluating “Quantumania”?, you will have to listen to find out, but there are a few hints in the topics we cover on this week’s show.
From the beginning, our panel confounds expectations. Former Lambcast Host Jay Cluitt was sure that he was going to be engaging in an argument with regular guest Howard Casner of “Pop Art”. Turns out, that is not the way things were trending. Nick Rehak believed that family disfunction was at the heart of the film, or maybe he was talking about this week’s panel. Jeanette Ward, a self proclaimed apologist for the MCU, engaged in some equivocation when expressing her views of the movie.
There were a lot of characters in the Quantum Realm that may provoke laughter, some of it intended but some is not. One thing everyone seemed to agree on was that Johnathon Majors is a great addition to the cast of actors working in the MCU. Now, is his character of Kang a great addition?, we have a little discussion about that.
Paul Rudd, as always, made a great “Man Child” but now his character of Scott Lang is becoming a bourgeois father. Is he the weak link in the story or is it daughter Cassie, as the rebellious teen version of himself? There is plenty of MCU speculation in our discussion as well as some analysis of the marketing of the film.
Richard and Howard pontificate on the imponderable possibilities and limitations of a Multiverse multiplied by a Quantum Realm. “WandaVision”, “Moon Knight”, “She-Hulk”, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”, “Hawkeye”, “Loki”, “Ms. Marvel” and now “Rick and Morty”, how lost will you be if you don’t keep up with all of it?
There is a lot to take in, so don’t just sit there, download or stream the show now. We also play a microscopic game that is macro fun, and there is huge speculation about upcoming movies based on the recent dump of trailers surrounding the Super Bowl.
